劇情簡介：
「只有政治意志才能終結這種血腥的規矩」，這是巴丹戴爾（Badinter）在「為廢除死刑而戰」一書中的名言，卻也是幾乎所有廢除死刑國家的共同經驗，而本片正是記錄著法國推動廢除死刑推手—巴丹戴爾的心路歷程及時代背景。巴丹戴爾是法國著名的律師、大學教授及左派政治家，於七十年代為一系列死刑案件擔任辯護律師，成為法國廢除死刑運動的代表性人物。1981年支持廢除死刑的左派政治家密特朗（社會黨）當選總統後，任命巴丹戴爾為司法部長。在巴丹戴爾的主導下，法國在1981年9月30日廢除死刑。

In his book "L'abolition,"Badinter says that only politics can terminate the bloody death penalty."It's a well-known remark and an exact description for almost all countries with the same experience against it. This film records the mental process of Badinter, an initiator and a French representative example of abolishing the death penalty, lawyer, professor and left-wing politician. In 1980s, he worked as a barrister for a series of death penalty cases. In 1981, he's assigned to be the Minister of Justice and his domination makes France abolish the death penalty On September 30.
